A short walk down Tel Aviv
Start your itinerary in Old Jaffa, at the south-em tip of Tel Aviv. The fortified city was used as the gateway to the Land of Israel from the dawn of history, and lias preserved its unique 5 heritage in an elegant fashion. Stroll through its cobblestone alleyways clown to the old port " and the artists' quarter, where you'll find an abundance of galleries and the liana Goor Museum. NeveTzedek
Just north of Jaffa, the quaint little neighborhood of Neve Tzedek was Tel Aviv's first Jewish neighborhood, established in 1887. Today it's one of the trencliest parts of town, and home « tthir Suzanne Dellal Center for Performing Arts and Israel's internationally renowned Bat Sheva Dance Company. The Nahum Gut- ' man Museum, which displays the late Israeli j artist's works a long wi th temporary exhibits by other artists, is also located in a beautiful build-ing in the neighborhood. Neve Tzedek's main artery, Shabazi Street, is a charming little street dotted with stylish cafes and boutiques.
Southern Tel Aviv
The tell-tale architecture and atmosphere of southern Tel Aviv reveal its age as one of the oldest parts of the city. A short walk down the Nachalat Binyamin pedestrian sheet, especially on Tuesdays and Fridays when its arts . and crafts fair comes to life, offers a glimpse of the city's southern style. Boulevard
From the southern part of town, it'sa quickhop to Rothschild Boulevard, considered the city's most beautiful boulevard, lined with rows of J magnificent, twisted Ficus trees. The soutliem part of Rothschild boasts some of the city's most beautiful architecture and the promenade bustles with passersby all day long. You'll also find some of the city's historical museums here, like the Haganah Museum and Independence Hall. Some of the city's most popular restaurants and cafes call Rotlischild Boulevard home. TheCultural Scene
The city's larger cultural institutions are located within walking distance from each other. Rothschild Boulevard ends at the Habima National Theatre and the Mann Auditorium. a man-el of 1930's architecture and home to the Israeli Philharmonic. The Performing Arts Center, the Israeli Opera, the new Cameri Theatre and the Tel Aviv Museum of Art are located on nearby Shaul HaM- , elech Avenue.
Dizengoff
Dizengoff Street used to be the place to be seen, so much that in the 50's the name became a synonym to "cruising" and is still one of the city's most popular streets. Established in « 1973, Dizengoff Center is one of the first malls ever built in the country. -A bit further north, the Fire & Water Fountain designed by artist Yaacov Agam is the d trademark of Dizengoff Square. The northern part of the street is scattered with exclusive designer boutiques and cafes. Parallel to Dizengoff Street, Ben Yehuda Street offers numerous jewelry and Judaica shops alongside trendy cafes like Libra and Lechem Erez.
Tel Aviv Port
Dizengoff and Ben Yehuda's northern edge gives on to the Tel Aviv Port, an ultra fashionable complex where you can relax in one of the choice restaurants that have taken over the 3 waterfront. Mill Yam is one of the city's top seafood restaurants and Comme il Faut fashion house's Bayit BaNamal is a space that includes a chic cafe, ; design and fashion shops and an art gallery.
Northern Tel Aviv
Northern Tel Aviv is essentially a posh residential area including Ramat Aviv, where you'll find the sophisticated Ramat Aviv Mall, and nearby the Tel Aviv University campus, the Diaspora Museum and the Eretz Israel Museum. Just north of Tel Aviv, Herzliya Pituach offers an extremely high concentration of restaurants, first-rate cafes and diplomatic abodes. This coastal neighborhood also has seven well-kept beaches and a new marina.
